The Catalans’ plan before the Coronavirus was to target Neymar and Lautaro Martinez this summer.
Barca’s idea was to form the best attack in the world, but they have had to prioritise Inter striker Martinez.
Neymar’s return to Camp Nou is looking like a dream this summer, especially with PSG making a deal near impossible.
Barcelona have explored a return for Neymar, but the Parisians have imposed ‘impossible conditions’.
PSG would sell Neymar but don’t want to talk about player swaps and only a €175m cash offer might tempt them.
Neither Barcelona or any other European club can approach that figure in the current climate.
Neymar wants Barca return
However, Neymar wants to return to Barcelona after three years in France and that has led to further talks.
Barca had considered a deal for Neymar almost impossible, but have been given encouragement.
Neymar would need to pressure PSG to sell him and the French would have to be more flexible in negotiations.
For now, Barca bosses are focused on signing Lautaro Martinez and are waiting to see what happens with Neymar.
Neymar was sold to PSG in 2017 for a world-record €222m (£200m) fee and has scored 69 goals in 80 appearances.
