Cavani, 33, is out of contract at PSG in June and is high on Antonio Conte’s wishlist.
Inter have offered ‘El Matador’ a two-year contract worth €7.5m-per-season, but Cavani has no intention of reducing his €12m salary so much.
Cavani would be willing to sacrifice some of his wages but only to €10m-per-season, still too much for Inter.
Nerazzurri have other ideas
With the brakes currently on any move for Cavani, Inter are looking at several alternatives.
21-year-old Cunha has been in lightning form for Hertha with four goals in his last five appearances.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old David has netted 23 goals in 40 appearances for Gent, putting top European clubs on alert.
