Cellino: PSG and Barca have asked me for Tonali, but…

Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali is the hottest property in Italy right now following his stunning season.

Tonali has won comparisons to Andrea Pirlo, but Pirlo believes the 20-year-old is more complete than he was.

Brescia president Massimo Cellino has revealed that Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have contacted him for Tonali.

“I fall in love with certain players and I would never want to sell them,” Cellino told the Italian press.

“However, I realise the boy has important personal goals and a family that follows him, especially his mother.

“Nasser [Al-Khelaifi] would like him in Paris, he messaged me even today, but he [Tonali] doesn’t want to go to France.”

Tonali has his eyes on a move closer to home, two clubs in particular…

Cellino revealed: “Inter and Juve are the destinations he prefers.

“De Laurentiis [Napoli chairman] has offered me €40m, Fiorentina are ready to go to any length, but his fate is set.”

Before COVID-19, there was Barca…

Finally, the controversial Cellino revealed a huge offer made by Barcelona prior to the Coronavirus outbreak.

“Before Covid, Barcelona had reached €65m plus two very interesting boys valued at €7.5m each. One was a defensive player. I believe the Catalan leaders received an answer they didn’t like…”

Tonali’s focus until the end of the season is on Brescia, who are rock bottom of Serie A and nine points from safety.

Even if – or when – Le Rondinelle are relegated, Massimo Cellino will be able to command a big fee for his young jewel.

Tonali has made 23 appearances in the league for Brescia this season, scoring once and registering five assists.

The young technician won his first three caps for Italy last year, debuting against Liechtenstein in October.

One thing is for sure, Sandro Tonali will be playing his club football for a leading club next season. But will it be for Juventus or Inter…?
