Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has always been a fan of the 23-year-old. In 2017 when Barca signed Dembele to replace Neymar, Liverpool provided competition.
Three years later, the French flyer is back on Liverpool’s radar. The Premier League champions elect want to strengthen their already formidable squad.
And with a move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner in some doubt, Dembele has emerged as an alternative.
As Mundo Deportivo points out, Dembele plays in a different position to Werner, but that doesn’t bother Klopp.
Juventus asked Barcelona last week about incorporating Dembele in a deal for Miralem Pjanic, but nothing has happened there.
Dembele could be available for just €50m according to recent reports, making him an attractive option for clubs around Europe.
Barcelona ready to sell
Barcelona coach Quique Setién values Dembele highly, but the Catalans have a stockpile of attacking talent.
In addition to Messi, Suarez, Griezmann and Braithwaite, Ansu has broken into the first team and Trincao will return from Braga.
And that is before Barcelona’s grand plan to sign Lautaro Martinez if they can negotiate a fee with Inter.
Dembele is not on Barca’s non-transferable list and could be sold, with Liverpool back on the list of possible buyers.
