24-year-old Munoz will sign a four-year contract at the Belgian club, with the option of a fifth.
According to Transfermarkt, the cost of Munoz’s move to Genk is €1.4m.
Munoz is described as an ‘energetic all-round defender’ who can play in every defensive position.
He only moved to Atletico Nacional, the club of his heart, a year ago and quickly became captain of the team.
Nacional fans loved Munoz, calling him la hincha de la cancha (the supporter on the field) because he was a fanatical supporter in his youth.
Munoz remains in Colombia and because of the Coronavirus pandemic and it is unknown when he will fly to Belgium.
Upon his arrival he will link up with two other Colombians, Jhon Lucumí and Carlos Cuesta.
