Kenny ‘99% sure’ to return to Everton from Schalke

Jonjoe Kenny is almost certain to return to Everton after his loan at Schalke ends, Sky Sport in Germany reports.

The German outlet reveals that Everton are ‘99% sure’ they will take 23-year-old Kenny back at Goodison Park.

Kenny has made 24 Bundesliga appearances for Die Königsblauen, starting almost every game for David Wagner’s side.

Schalke had hoped to keep Kenny, but he may enter Carlo Ancelotti’s thinking at Everton after a good year in Germany.

Wagner recently praised Kenny, telling Sky Sport:”In the changing room he’s as well regarded as he is by our fans.”

The former Huddersfield boss pointed out that Schalke’s finances have doomed them to losing Kenny.

“It looks like we don’t have the financial strength to buy him,” Wagner said.
