Maxime Gonalons set for Ligue 1 return?

Maxime Gonalons could soon return to Ligue 1, with Dijon in contact with Roma about a loan deal.

The 31-year-old midfielder, capped eight times by France, has spent the last two seasons out on loan in Spain.

Last season, Roma sent Gonalons to Sevilla and this season he has been playing for Granada.

Having failed to impress in Italy, a homecoming could be on the cards for Gonalons, who left Lyon in 2017.

A report by Le Progrès (via L’Equipe) states Peguy Luyindula, Dijon’s sporting director, has asked Roma for Gonalons on loan.

Roma want reduce their wage bill due to their economic crisis and may be open to a loan if Dijon take on his salary.
