A versatile midfielder, 20-year-old Monchu has been his team’s top scorer this season and has played more minutes than anyone.
In 26 league appearances he has found the net 8 times and contributed 3 assists. It has become evident that he is too good for Spain’s third tier and needs a bigger challenge.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with teams from Spain, Italy and Germany showing interest.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, it is English teams Brighton and Bournemouth who are his main suitors.
Both clubs have been following Monchu for a long time and would like to sign him this summer.
Monchu is currently training with Barcelona’s first team and is hoping to catch the eye of head coach Quique Setién.
His contract currently runs until 2021, but Barcelona have the option to automatically renew it until 2023.
Palma-born Monchu wants to go one step further and should Barca choose to not promote him, he is open to offers.
And waiting in the wings are two teams from the highest level of English football…
