Juventus and Barcelona have excellent relations and have been discussing Miralem Pjanic swapping Serie A for La Liga. Besides the Bosnian midfielder, defenders have also been on the agenda.
Barcelona has offered several players to Juve: Semedo, Sergi Roberto, Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal. The player Juventus want most is Brazilian midfielder Arthur, but he does not currently wish to leave Barca.
Barcelona are short on cash and are willing to discuss selling any of their players except Marc-André ter Stegen, Frenkie de Jong and Lionel Messi. This opens up many possible transfers for the two clubs as talks continue.
Catalans admire De Sciglio
27-year-old De Sciglio is very highly valued by Barcelona’s technical department. They believe he would compliment Sergi Roberto well, because he is very offensive while the Italian is a good defender.
Barcelona and Juventus are evaluating De Sciglio’s inclusion in any deals, though it is dependent on Semedo leaving. De Sciglio is not the only option, with other right-backs under consideration at Barca.
Moussa Wague could remain at Barcelona after his loan spell at Nice. The French team will not be using their option to buy Wague. Another option is bringing forward Emerson’s integration by one year. The 21-year-old plays for Betis, but Barcelona have a €6m purchase option after the two clubs jointly purchased him from Atletico Mineiro.
Barcelona’s preference is to buy a new right-back. There has also been talk of Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo, but there has been no contact from Barca for him. Their search continues, but De Sciglio is very much in their thoughts.
