The 23-year-old Kosovan is ready to join Julian Nagelsmann’s high-flying team, but the clubs must first agree a fee.
The BILD publication reports that Leipzig want to pay €20m plus future bonuses for the hard-working Rashica.
Werder are currently in the drop-zone and Rashica has a €15m exit clause if they are relegated.
As SPORT BILD explains though, the clause expires on June 15 and Werder may not be relegated by then. The Bundesliga will resume on May 16, but it seems unlikely the season will be over by mid-June.
RB Leipzig are prepared to pay more than the clause amount, but must thrash out terms with Werder.
The Germans must also look out for Liverpool, who are interested in Rashica according to Kosovan Football Federation president, Agim Amedi.
Rashica has been a superb performer for relegation-threatened Werder this season, scoring 10 goals and contributing 5 assists.
A former Albanian international, Rashica now represents Kosovo and has scored 4 goals in 24 appearances for them.
