VVV-Venlo are already active in the transfer market and the Eredivisie side are close to signing a rival team’s player.
Arias, a Curaçao international, is out of contract with Emmen at the end of June.
VVV-Venlo sporting director Stan Valckx today confirmed the club want Arias, but said nothing is done.
“There are more hijackers on the coast,” Valckx said rather cryptically.
VVV-Venlo could become Arias’ fourth professional club after FC Groningen, FC Dordrecht and FC Emmen.
The Limburgers announced two weeks ago that head coach Hans de Koning had extended his expiring contract by a year.
And the fast-moving Eredivisie club have already struck two deals, signing Guus Hupperts from KSC Lokeren and Wolfsberger AC left-back Lukas Schmitz.
