Lorenzo Melgarejo ready to leave Spartak Moscow

Paraguayan forward Lorenzo Melgarejo is ready to call time on his five-year stay at Spartak Moscow.

The 29-year-old is out of contract on June 30 and wants to experience another European league.

“I’ve been in Russia for seven years [previously at Kuban] and I want to go to another league,” Melgarejo told Monumental AM 1080 during its Fútbol a lo Grande show.

After spells with Olimpia and Independiente CG in Paraguay, Melgarejo joined Benfica in 2011 before heading to Russia in 2013.

Before heading to Kuban, reports claimed Melgarejo had agreed to join Liverpool on loan, but nothing came of it.
