The Turkish giants signed Christian Luyindama from Genk’s rivals Standard Liege, after loaning him and using their option to buy.
They want to do likewise with Nigeria forward Onuachu, who has scored 9 league goals in 22 appearances for Genk.
Unlike Standard, Genk are unwilling to loan out the 6’7″ forward, particularly as he only arrived from Midtjylland last August.
The 6-cap Nigerian cost Genk around €6m when he swapped the Danish Superliga for Belgian First Division A.
Only an offer worth millions from abroad could test Genk’s resolve, something Galatasaray are unlikely to do.
With Galatasaray wanting the loan and option formula, the chances of them signing Onuachu appear remote at best.
