The BVB under-17 starlet has rejected a multi-million pound offer from Chelsea to stay at Dortmund, SPORT BILD reports.
Convincing Collins, described as a ‘model athlete’, to choose Dortmund was a tough job for sporting director Michael Zorc.
Chelsea tried to lure the 16-year-old to Stamford Bridge for weeks, offering him and his family a huge cash sum.
In the end, Collins decided to remain at BVB, because the club showed him a clear perspective.
Collins will join Dortmund’s senior squad from summer 2021 and should begin training with them this season.
Furthermore, the defender will be promoted from the U-17 to U-19 team ahead of schedule.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City were also credited with an interest in the teenager.
