Samir Handanović set for new Inter deal

Samir Handanović is set to extend his eight-year stay with Inter by agreeing a new contract extension, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Slovenian has previously been linked with Real Madrid, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, but has opted to stay at the San Siro.

And it is reported that Handanović, 35, will renew as soon as possible, ending any doubts over his future with his current deal expiring in 2021.

Handanović also has his eyes on a major achievement with the Nerazzurri, with Walter Zenga’s 328-match record in sight.

His appearance count currently stands at 279 and a new contract would almost certainly ensure he breaks Zenga’s record.
